Thursday 8th - Friday 9th September 2022

About the event:

Beinn Sgulaird, Beinn Fhionnlaidh and Sgurr na h-Ulaidh lie sandwiched between Glencoe and Glen Etive. We’ll be aiming to have a monster day on Beinn Sgulaird and Beinn Fhionnlaidh which means returning almost to sea level between the two. On the second day we’ll have a more leisurely day on Sgurr na h-Ulaidh from Glencoe

The general plan - We’ll be meeting at 0800 on each day.

Day 1

We’ll likely head up Beinn Fhionnlaidh first as it’s the longest ascent. Typically way back along the ridge. With numerous false summits it’s a feat to get here. We’ll drop down and attempt the shorter climb up Beinn Sgulaird.

Munros:

Beinn Fhionnlaidh (959m / 3,146ft)

Beinn Sgulaird (937m / 3,074ft)

Day 2

The lost mountain of Glencoe. Often overlooked by the more accessible and arguably, spectacular counterparts seen from the road. We’ll aim for the ridge that gives wonderful views to the more popular counterparts. We’ll likely return the same way or drop down into the glen depending on the weather.

Munros:

Sgurr na h-Ulaidh (994m / 3,261ft)

Meeting Point:

Day 1

Meet at 0800 at Glenure. Please click on the links to see the exact location in Googlemaps. These will open in a separate tab.

Day 2

Meet at a layby by the bend on the A82 near An Tor just east of Glencoe Villiage. Please click on the link to see the exact location in Googlemaps. This will open in a separate tab.

Difficulty:

There are good tracks around the area. But the double Munro day is more about endurance and multiple ascent/descent. It’s a steep pull onto the Ulaidh ridge but fine walking after that.

The trip costs £149 per person with discounts for booking more than one.
