These walks take in a number of the famous Wainwright Fells in the Central Lakes and will involve two days of walking from the picturesque village of Grasmere.

Cost: £60 per person per day

Hill Walking and Mountain Hiking

Level 3: Moderate Mountain Days

Description: Glen Shiel is on 'the road to the isles' in the north west highlands of Scotland. The majestic South Glen Shiel Ridge boasts 7 Munros, while to the north of the road lies the 5 Sisters of Kintail (three of which are Munros) and the 4 Brothers of Kintail. We'll be staying locally and there will be different day walk options each day depending on interest and the weather! The South Glen Shiel ridge is a long and tough day but not technically challenging - just a long day walking with spectacular views.

Glen Shiel is famous for the battle which took place on 10th June 1719 between the Jacobites and Spanish troops and the UK Government troops and remnants of the battle can be seen in the Glen. One of the 5 Sisters of Kintail is named Sgurr nan Spainteach in memory of the Spanish troops.

Cost: £60 per person per day

Level 4: Hard & Long Mountain Day(s)

Description: The Welsh 3,000's are the 14-16 summits in Snowdonia (depending on which ones are counted) over 3,000ft including Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales at 1,085m. Fell runners tend to undertake the whole route in under 24 hours but we'll tackle the Snowdon Massif, Glydders and Carneddau in a more leisurely 3 days. Crib Goch is a famous knife edge ridge with some spectacular scrambling. Tryfan is a razor blade mountain which is almost invisible when viewed head on and these hills need a head for heights. Most of the difficulties can be avoided. The Carneddau is a long plateau and requires two cars so will only be possible to complete the full traverse if there are folk willing to leave a car at one end.

Cost: £60 per person per day

Individual day walks can range from 4-8 hours - but a lot will depend on the weather, the group level of experience and fitness. These activities are unlikely to be suitable for young very kids, but those considering entering the DofE scheme may find them useful (14-18). Under 18's are welcome so long as they are accompanied by parent(s)/guardian(s). If you are not sure whether a trek will be suitable for a child please ask us. For a location map of the National Parks and links to their own websites please see here

We offer guided one-off guided single day walks in the Peak District National Park, Yorkshire Dales National Park, North York Moors National Park, Lake District National Park or the North Pennines AONB. Don't forget we can also offer bespoke days out for your friends and family. Just let us know what your hill/mountain aims and targets are and we'll see what we can do - see the Plan Your Own section.

These places can be ideal for those getting into hill walking and mountain trekking. There are the famous 'Wainwrights' in the Lake District National Park or the more recently published list of The Dales 30, the highest 30 mountains above 2,000ft in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

For multiple day walks we tend to include areas in the Highlands of Scotland and Snowdonia National Park in North Wales. For more information about the different areas and National Parks, please see here.

Level 3: Moderate Mountain Days

Description: Ben Nevis is Britain's highest mountain at 1,345 m (4,411 ft) above sea level. Depending on the weather, we'll aim to take the more spectacular (and quieter) route over Carn Mor Dearg (1220m/4003ft) and the famous arete that links the two. If you've ever climbed Crib Goch in Snowdonia it's quite similar though not as demanding. It requires a head for heights! If the weather is less inviting, we'll take the main track up to the summit of Ben Nevis. We'll also climb the spectacular two Munros at the eastern end of Glen Nevis - the grassy Mullach nan Coirean (939m/3018ft) and the rocky Stob Ban (999m/3278ft)
