Big Weekend Adventures

ABOUT THE EVENTS

These events are there for you to come along and experience something new.

Escaping the normal hustle and bustle of normal life for a few days.

Whether it's a first venture into the higher mountains, your first wilderness camping excursion or just to come and bag some Munros or Wainwrights or wherever with a group to meet new people.

I deal with the route planning and guiding, leaving you to enjoy the day, take photographs, have a new adventure and chat to folk!

I grade the walks and trips with a grading system of 1-5 (where 1 is a straight forward beginners day on good tracks and 5 are long and strenuous mountain days).

For a list of the upcoming bigger adventures please see below and click on the event you are interested in for more details and booking information!

Easter on the Glen Shiel Munros

Friday 10th - Monday 13th April 2020

Level 4 walk - Hard & long mountain days

The popular Glen Shiel trip is back again!

Glen Shiel is famous for it's battles with the Jacobite rising. It's also famous for being the Road to the Isles, absolutely stunning and having no fewer than 22 Munros on offer including the magnificent South Glen Shiel Ridge with 7 Munros baggable in a day.

Fisherfield Wilderness Munro Trek

Friday 8th - Sunday 10th May 2020

Level 5 walk - Hard & long wilderness mountain days

The Fisherfield Forest contains perhaps the remotest Munros in Scotland. They can be done as separate but very long day walks. But the best way to explore them is backpacking in for a few days. One of the famous 6 Munros has been demoted from Munro status to a Corbett but is a majestic hill. Add potentially difficult river crossings, there's no wonder the view from A'Mhaigdean is considered the best in Britain - given the effort to get there!

3 Day Welsh 3000s

Saturday 23rd - Monday 25th May 2020

Level 4 walk - Hard & long mountain days

Snowdonia boasts and amazing array of landscapes and geology in a relatively small area. Rising out of the sea it can be seen from the relatively flat island of Anglessea as a dark brooding barrier to the mainland.

The Welsh 3,000s are a spectacular challenge to undertake. From the knife-edge ridge of Crib Goch, the boulder field of the Glydders to the grassy far Carneddau, it has it all.

The usual challenge is to complete the whole route in 24h. However we'll tackle the three main groupings over three days - Snowdon Massif, Glydderau, Carneddau.

Glencoe Munros

Saturday 29th - Monday 31st August 2020

For more information and to book:

Level 4 walk - Hard & long mountain days

The mighty Glencoe stops tourists with awe and wonder at it's beauty. Buachaille Etive Mor from Rannoch Moor is regularly voted the most picturesque Munro and is a perfect pyramid. We'll do a number of day trips to bag the biggest Munros in the area.

We'll have the big days on the Saturday and Sunday, and have a shorter day Monday to allow everyone to get home.

AND MORE TO COME!
